Here’s your winter dining forecast: a warming food trend, with a riff on risotto and a new take on a traditional dish!
We’ve been cooking up a storm recently and created two terrific specials for the season. Orzo ‘Risotto’ with Vegetables takes rice-shaped orzo pasta and simmers it like risotto in butter, garlic, stock and parmesan, for a shamelessly rich dish laden with local organic mushrooms, sweet peas, zucchini and yellow squash. It’s incredibly yummy.
Then we were inspired to give Grilled Italian Fennel Sausages with Polenta a tasty Pastini twist. Two savory sausages snuggle on a bed of creamy Bob’s Red Mill polenta under a blanket of our marinara, with a tangy garnish of fresh arugula dressed in roasted tomato vinaigrette. It does tradition one better!
