In our restaurants, we are celebrating Oregon Wine Month in May by pouring two special wines, both made from Pinot Noir, the grape that Oregon is best known for:
Pike Road 2018 Pinot Noir Rosé and Elk Cove 2017 ‘La Siréne’ Pinot Noir
The Pike Road Rosé grapes are hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed, which results in a wine with less bitterness. It is cold-fermented, which preserves the fresh fruit flavors.
This lovely wine has flavors of strawberries, peaches and mandarin oranges, and a crisp, juicy finish. It is perfect for sipping in spring and summer, and pairs well with appetizers and salads.
Pike Road is a second label for Elk Cove Vineyards, so is a wine that comes with the excellent Elk Cove reputation.
Elk Cove is one of Oregon’s first and premier Pinot Noir producers: they’ve been doing it for over 40 years! This vintage is carefully crafted for bright fruit and spicy complexity, with notes of black cherry, and a finish of herbs and spice. The grapes come 100% from Elk Cove’s estate vineyards in Gaston, OR. It is a vibrant, beautifully textured Pinot Noir. This limited ‘La Sirene’ bottling is available only in Oregon!
