For the holidays this year, we’re pouring Italy’s most festive wine, Lambrusco (lam-BROOS-coh), which may surprise you… it’s a semi-sweet, sparkling red! Made primarily in the Emilia-Romagna region, it is meant to be a non-serious wine to drink with appetizers or just on its own. And it’s just delicious! Our Cleto Chiarli Lambrusco is one of the best, and was rated 91 (out of 100) by James Suckling, a noted wine expert. It has very fruity aromas, soft, lively bubbles and lovely flavors of pomegranate and plum, with a hint of orange peel. James Suckling calls it “capitivating” and we think you’ll love it!
Our other wine of the month is La Quercia Aglianico from the master of Montepulciano, Antonio Lamona. Antoinio delivers his signature combination of power and finesse with one of the most difficult varietals of all. La Quercia is an uncertified organic estate, and this wine really delivers! With the classic ripe plum and white pepper notes this grape is known for, it is a rare opportunity to taste Aglianico in a fresh, immediate style that pairs beautifully with pastas.
Join us through the end of December to try these wonderful wines!
