OSU Research a Boon to Pasta
Here at Pastini, we were fascinated to read about OSU’s wheat breeding program and the success they’ve had in developing varieties to grow in Oregon. After all, pasta is mostly wheat! Researchers at the College of Agricultural Sciences have developed dozens of varieties adapted to both the dry Columbia basin and wetter Western Oregon. Most of the varieties are white winter wheat, the kind that makes the best noodles. Read more about this. And thanks OSU, for making the wheat that makes the flour that makes the pasta.

Pastini To Go
Summer activities with the kids sometimes don't leave much time for cooking...and who wants to be in the kitchen when it's sunny outside? Not us, we want to be on a chaise lounge reading a good summer novel. But, when you want food fast, don't settle for fast food. Just call Pastini. Your order will be made to order and ready for pickup in about 10 minutes. And it will be made with wholesome, fresh, local ingredients instead of deep-fried. Crisp salads, authentic pastas, grilled panini and delicious rustic sandwiches…all in the Italian tradition. Call for Pastini take out at 541-257-2579. Here's a link to our menu. When you get your Pastini take out, you'll be happy to see that our pasta containers are made with 40% less plastic, and microwavable to 250 degrees. And our salad boxes are compostable...as are the take out bags we use. They're made from corn, a renewable resource, and will break down when composted in municipal and industrial composting facilities, like we now have in Corvallis. Read more about Green Pastini.
