Pastini Spring Specials
For our spring pasta specials, we are bringing back two pastas that used to be on the Pastini menu:
- Farfalle with Asparagus and Lemon Cream Sauce
- Ziti di Campagna (say cam-PAH-nyuh)
Farfalle with Asparagus was on the menu a few years ago and is a delicious dish that says "spring"! The combination of tender, fresh spears with the delicate lemon-cream sauce and a sprinkling of toasted pistachios is wonderful, and the farfalle pasta is a tender, somewhat delicate shape that goes well with the dish.
(We are sourcing local asparagus from Snow & Sons in Outlook, WA which is an important asparagus-growing area near Kennewick.*)
Ziti di Campagna is a hearty dish ("campagna" means "country-style") full of big flavors. Hearty, chewy ziti pasta is perfect in this dish. Fennel sausage, spring peas, local Yamhill Farm mushrooms, a few tomatoes and roasted peppers are all complemented by a yummy cream sauce with a bit of garlic. Mmmm. This was on our very first Pastini menu in 2001!
Honey Bourbon Sour
A tasty riff on the classic Whiskey Sour cocktail! We’re using housemade honey syrup instead of simple syrup and it is adds a complexity of flavor that complements the Makers Mark bourbon beautifully!
A refreshing craft soda made with our housemade rosemary syrup, fresh lemon juice, lemon Monin and simple syrup. Great for a spring flavor lift!
*(Local asparagus may not be available for the entire three months, we’ll use it whenever available)
